Hollywood Glamour meets French Savoir Faire

I recently had the sublime pleasure of visiting the DPA Pre-Awards gifting lounge, hosted by my friend Nathalie Dubois, at the Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel. President and CEO of DPA Group, Nathalie is a veteran in the production of star-studded events and this luxurious suite was no exception!

Originally from France, Nathalie attributes her success in part to her world travels and the exotic cultural influences of the products she picks for her unique gift suites. Her offerings also have a strong health and wellness theme, with an array of interesting organic products and services, such as yoga and reiki healing.

When Nathalie promised to spoil me, that was a clear understatement. As I was personally escorted through the mesmerizing maze of vendors, I was treated to samples of fabulous cosmetics, beauty products, clothing, and a sumptuous selection of beverages and sweets.

One of the afternoon’s highlights was connecting with international fashion designer Eva Varro. Eva graduated from the Fashion Institute of Budapest, Hungary and honed her talent working for several leading fashion design companies in Hungary and Italy.  She relocated to the United States and settled in Los Angeles in 2002 and later launched her own line, that became an instant success. She generously gifted me with several pieces from her collection, which are my new go-tos this season!

I couldn’t resist nibbling on a cupcake from The Sugared Cake, a home-based bakery specializing in custom-designed celebration cakes, cupcakes, and donuts for all occasions.

And let’s not forget the celebrities who are attracted to DPA like bees to a flower! Over the years, attendees have included A-Listers like Queen Latifah, Susan Sarandon, Charlize Theron, Adrien Brody, Colin Firth, Carey Mulligan, Viola Davis, Felicity Huffman, and Sharon Stone.
